General description

Design-and-build contract for an arched steel confinement shelter over the nuclear reactor building that blew up in 1986, to allow dismantling to proceed. The arch is assembled on two concrete ground beams to the west of the reactor and slid to its final location.

It is designed for a service lifetime of 100 years.

Operation carried out by a consortium.
