Mining

Ivory Coast, 2010 - 2024

General description

Since 2010, DTP Mining has been responsible for mining and excavating over 110 million bcm on behalf of Société des Mines de Tongon, which is 98% owned by the company Barrick.

Over a 11-year period, the site has mobilised over 600 people, working round the clock, seven days a week, along with a fleet of 100-tonne dumper trucks and four 300-tonne hydraulic excavators.

With annual production of seven tonnes of gold, Tongon is the biggest gold mine in Ivory Coast. The mine’s gold reserves are estimated to be 3.16 million ounces, i.e. more than 98 tonnes.

As an exclusive subcontractor of Barrick, DTP Mining is also responsible for operating the Gounkoto and Morila mines in Mali, and the Kibali mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
