Line 15 South - work section T3A

Construction of a 4.2-km section of railway tunnel between the Pont de Sèvres and Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart stations

Underground Works

France, 2017-2022

General description

As part of the Grand Paris Express project, the biggest urban project currently under way in Europe, the Horizon consortium, led by Bouygues Travaux Publics, is working on batch T3A of Line 15 South, which concerns the section between Pont de Sèvres and Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart stations. This batch includes the digging of a 4.2 kilometre-long single-tube tunnel, as well as the civil engineering works for the Pont de Sèvres and Issy RER (regional express rail line) stations and the construction of three ancillary structures. The tunnel is dug by a TBM with an internal diameter of 8.7 m, requiring an excavated material removal system tailored to the site's environment. Hence, the Horizon consortium is removing the excavated material from the tunnel and the Pont de Sèvres station by river, which greatly reduces the project’s impact on traffic.
