General description
Installing a composite material grid mesh on the upstream facing, itself anchored to the body of the structure by adjustable prestressed anchor rods, and partial renovation of the downstream facing.
The consolidation work is designed to solve three problems observed on the dam, mainly caused by the alkali-aggregate reaction phenomenon:
- cracking of the upper part of the dam
- development of internal stress and major deformation
- degradation of the downstream facing
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
The dam consolidation work planned by EDF includes 3 works sections:
- Firstly, the removal of the sealing diaphragm at the start of work and the installation of a new diaphragm at the end of work (works section No.3)
- Secondly, making vertical channels by cable sawing to counter stress (works section No.2)
- And finally installing prestressed anchor rods and a carbon grid mesh on the upstream side, as well as partial repair of the downstream facing (works section No.1). The purpose of the anchor rods and grid mesh is to restore monolithism to the upper part of the dam, thus preventing the movement and separation of blocks. Our work section also includes the setting up of access routes and lifting equipment for the work site.
